Poised shuts down on 8 October 2026.
A Poised alternative, now that it is shutting down
What Poised does
Poised was the best-known standalone meeting coach: real-time feedback on filler words, pace and clarity while you were speaking, through a desktop app that listened to your calls.
At a glance
| Poised | Meeting Coach | |
|---|---|---|
| When you get feedback | Live, while you spoke | After, from the transcript |
| What it installs | A desktop app in every call | Nothing |
| What it coached | Delivery — pace, fillers, clarity | Delivery and your English |
| Past meetings | No — it had to be running | Yes, any transcript you still have |
Where we differ
Nothing runs during your call
Poised worked live, which meant a desktop app in every meeting. We work from the transcript afterwards — no app, no bot, no extension, and nothing to explain to a client. It also means we can look at meetings that already happened.
Your English, not only your delivery
Poised coached delivery: pace, fillers, clarity. If English is your second language, the thing costing you credibility is often the preposition or the tense, and that is a different kind of feedback. We do both in one report.
No live feedback
This is a real loss and worth being straight about. There is no nudge while you are talking. The trade is that you get a considered report on the whole conversation instead of a signal in the moment.
When they are the better choice
If what you valued was the live nudge mid-sentence, nothing transcript-based replaces that. The closest thing now is in-meeting coaching built into Teams or Read.
Common questions
- What happens to my Poised data when it shuts down?
- Export anything you want to keep before 8 October 2026. We cannot import Poised history — their feedback was generated live and was never stored as transcripts — so a fresh baseline here starts from your next meeting.
- Is there a Poised alternative that still gives live feedback?
- Not as a standalone product of the same kind. The live nudge now mostly lives inside the meeting platforms themselves — Teams speaker coach, and Read during a call. If the in-the-moment signal is the part you valued, that is where to look, and this is not a replacement for it.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. You paste a transcript you already have. There is no desktop app, no bot in the call and no extension, which also means nothing to disclose to a client.
