How to get the transcript from a Google Meet call

Meet saves transcripts to the organiser’s Google Drive. Here is where to look.

  1. 1Open Google Drive for the account that organised the meeting.
  2. 2Look in the Meet Recordings folder. Transcripts sit alongside any recording.
  3. 3Open the transcript document and use File → Download.
  4. 4Transcripts need a Workspace edition that includes them, and someone has to turn transcription on during the call.

If the organiser was someone else, the transcript is in their Drive, not yours.

Common questions

Where do Google Meet transcripts go?
To the Google Drive of the account that organised the meeting, in the Meet Recordings folder, alongside any recording.
Why can I not find the transcript in my Drive?
If someone else organised the meeting, it is in their Drive rather than yours. Transcripts also require a Workspace edition that includes them, and someone has to turn transcription on during the call.
