Terms

The agreement between you and us. Short, because the product is simple and most of what a long version would cover does not apply here.

What this is

betterput analyses a meeting transcript you give it and returns coaching on your English and on how you came across. It is operated by Codama Advanced Engineering Inc., registered in Delaware, United States. Using it means you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

Your account

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — an account is one person, because a report is about one person and a mistake profile blended from two people describes neither.

What you upload

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to process the transcript, produce your report, and store the findings and metrics so the profile works.

You confirm you are allowed to upload it. That is the one obligation that genuinely sits with you rather than with us, because we cannot know what your employer’s policy or your client’s contract says.

Worth separating two things people often merge: recording-consent law governs making the recording, which happened before you got here and which we are not part of. What you do afterwards with a transcript you already lawfully hold is a question for your own confidentiality obligations — your NDA, your employment contract, your client agreement. We pseudonymise the other participants precisely to keep that question as small as possible, but we cannot answer it for you.

Do not upload anything you have no right to share, and do not use this to analyse or grade somebody else.

What the analysis is, and is not

It is an opinion produced by a language model over text, checked by the rules we describe publicly: every finding quotes your own words verbatim and is dropped rather than reworded if it fails that check, and a number the transcript cannot support is shown as absent rather than as zero.

It can still be wrong. It is coaching, not professional, legal, medical or employment advice, and nothing here is a judgement of your competence or a basis for a decision about anyone’s job. Transcripts also contain transcription errors we can detect but not fix. Use your own judgement, and use the thumbs-down — it is the main signal we have.

Plans and payment

The free plan needs no card. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe, monthly or yearly, and renew until you cancel. Prices are shown in US dollars; tax may be added depending on where you are.

Cancel any time from Settings, which opens Stripe’s own portal — no email, no retention call. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-used periods as a rule, but if the product did not do what this site says it does, write to us and we will sort it out.

If a payment fails, the account falls back to free limits rather than being deleted. Your history stays where it is.

Availability, and ending things

This is a small product run by a small company. We do not promise a particular uptime, and we may change or discontinue features — if we discontinue something you are paying for, we will tell you and refund the unused part.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless we are legally unable to.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including anything that follows from acting on a finding.

Changes and governing law

We will give notice by email before a material change takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of Delaware, United States. Questions: hello@betterput.com.

Questions about any of this, or a request about your own data: hello@betterput.com.
