How to get the transcript from a Gong call
Gong transcribes every recorded call. Here is how to get the text out of one.
- 1Open the call in Gong.
- 2Switch to the transcript tab beside the recording.
- 3Copy the transcript, or use the export option if your workspace allows it.
- 4Paste it in and mark which speaker is you.
Gong is usually administered centrally and export permissions vary by organisation — some disable them entirely. If yours does, copying the transcript from the call view is normally still possible.

- Can I export a Gong call transcript?
- It depends on your workspace. Gong is deployed by the company rather than the individual, and administrators can restrict exporting. The transcript tab beside the recording is usually reachable even where file export is off.
- Will my manager see that I analysed my own call?
- Not from here. Pasting a transcript into a personal account does nothing inside Gong and creates no activity there. Your own report stays yours.
